Born and raised in Brooklyn, at a very young age Michael would experience the vibrant music culture of his Italian upbringing thanks to his very own grandfather… who sang everywhere from church choirs to social gatherings… so It’s to no one’s surprise that music became an integral part of his life at a very young age. Michael soon discovered his own musical talent, crafting mixtapes of hip-hop to jam to and to breakdance to. As he grew older, he immersed himself in the electrifying rave scene of the 90s. With a passion for electronic music, MTECH was born. He jumped from club to club and rave to rave in New York City, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, Detroit, Phoenix, and California. This experience fueled his desire to contribute to the scene, leading him to embark on his DJing and producing journey.

Returning from attending the UTI Technical School in Phoenix, Arizona, MTECH brought his newfound knowledge and enthusiasm back to the East Coast. Armed with Technics SL-D3 turntables and a Gemini 636 mixer, he jumped right into the art of mixing beats, honing his skills through experimentation and perseverance. Techno captured MTECH’s heart from the start, as he amassed a collection of records from respected artists like Adam Beyer, Punisher, Steve Stole, Richie Hawtin, and explored the realms of hard trance. One day that changed everything was acquiring a set of worn-out Technics 1200s from DJ Jarad. Michael fearlessly disassembled and repaired them patiently to further his craft.
Throughout his journey, MTECH collaborated with some of the area’s most esteemed crews and affiliates, including Eden Collective, Chemicaly Unbalanced/CU Entertainment, Concept Crew, Sympty, Sixth Sense Communications and Against The Grain. Michael then performed live with Dirty Human, skillfully playing instruments like the Quazimidi Ravolution, Roland 505, and Roland Nord Keyboard. Notably, MTECH graced the decks of renowned venues like Limelight, leaving a lasting impression on the crowd.

While life brought new responsibilities such as marriage, homeownership, and a full-time job, MTECH’s passion for DJing remained unwavering. Constructing his own soundproof studio in the basement, he continued to refine his craft, undeterred by the challenges of balancing his commitments. The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic provided a unique opportunity for MTECH to refocus on his dreams. Eager to travel the U.S., DJ at various venues, and produce tracks, he embraced Ableton Live, the latest addition to his arsenal of music production tools. With his previous experience in programs like Acid, Sound Forge, FL Studio, and Reason, MTECH skillfully incorporated his earlier creations into Ableton, shaping a hard and intelligent techno style. Currently, MTECH is actively involved with Respect the Dance Floor Radio (RTDFRaveRadio) as a co-founder and resident DJ, as well as One Love Presents, where he showcases his talent as a DJ, producer, and party manager.

Collaborating with Michael Paul Productions further amplifies his contributions to the music scene. MTECH’s artistic journey continues to unfold, with exciting collaborations and performances on the horizon. His unwavering dedication, genuine love for music, and relentless pursuit of his dreams ensure that MTECH’s presence in the electronic music will remain dynamic and influential.
